A step towards comfort and safer Earth

By Anita Nagar, 35 years Farmer, Secretary NRLM S.H.G., Rural Madhya Pradesh

I am Anita Nagar a farmer by profession as well as the secretary of the Self- Help-Group in Madhya Pradesh. My life was on a regular flow until I came across this organization which is called Lal Sakhi . True to their name, the Lal-Sakhi provided me with all the information, orientation and training on how to use menstrual cups. After receiving the required training, I started using menstrual cups which actually made my life a lot easy. Now I have totally shifted to the use of menstrual cups from the sanitary napkins that costed me a little from my pockets and also made me suffer rashes. Also being a farmer, I believe we must take the responsibility on keeping our nature healthy. I got to know from Lal Sakhi organistion that it takes a really long time for a sanitary napkin to degrade and it does destroy the soil. We must switch to sustainable menstrual products. I believe that no young female or woman should use cloth or pads as it has started taking a toll on our environment lately.  Therefore a cup can make a difference to both environment and in your lifestyle.
